How is chiropractic different from physiotherapy and sports massage?

What are the benefits?

1. Finding out what the problem is…

Chiropractors are trained to test, check, and examine, to provide you with a diagnosis, and give you an answer as to what has been bothering you. This allows a chiropractor to then triage, where they will be able to recommend the best course of action for you and your issue.

Often chiropractic care is the best course of action, but not always. Other recommended routes can include a referral for an x-ray, MRI scan, or other form of imaging, a referral to an orthopaedic consultant, or back to your GP for further tests.

Being assessed by a chiropractor means you will receive specific advice that is in your best interests. You will be given a verbal and written explanation of the reasons behind your recommended plan of care, so you can make a clear and informed decision about your health and wellbeing.

At CW Chiropractic we will always be on hand to answer any queries and provide honest and ethical advice that will put you first. If external referral is suggested, then we will assist you in this to make sure you’re in the right place getting the correct help. Ultimately, that is our collective goal.

2. Hands-on help- the effects of the Chiropractic Adjustment…

Chiropractors are highly skilled in providing hands-on care to relieve issues with joints, muscles, and corresponding nerves. Physiotherapy may rely more on exercise prescription, and massage therapy on the surrounding musculature, and these approaches can be beneficial depending on the condition. Chiropractic care addresses deeper lying issues, which are often related to the function of our joints, and therefore gets to the source of your problem.

Chiropractic care does consider the impact of muscular issues, too. Joints, muscles, and nerves work together; therefore, at CW Chiropractic we use techniques and provide individual stretching and exercise programmes to target specific muscles. In this way, we provide a complete approach and treatment package. Which leads us to…

3. An holistic approach…

At CW Chiropractic, as musculoskeletal and spinal healthcare specialists, we aim to provide a complete approach to spinal and musculoskeletal health through a package of care and advice that includes-

– Chiropractic Adjustments (Spinal Manipulative Therapy) and chiropractic manual therapy techniques such as Joint Mobilisation.
– Soft tissue therapy techniques.
– Ergonomic advice for desk workers.
– Postural advice.
– Lifestyle advice. .
– Bespoke stretching and exercise programmes through our specialist rehab software.

This combination of therapies and specialist advice provides the optimum opportunity for a return to normal function, healing, and long-term function and health.
