Neck Related Headaches
Did you know? Headache is the most common symptom reported in the general population, with a lifetime prevalence of more than 90% (1).
Headaches are painful and debilitating and are a common cause of absence from work or school.
Around 15-20% of chronic headaches originate in the neck. Nerves, joints, and muscles in the neck contribute to pain known as cervicogenic headaches. (2)
Symptoms can include-
· One sided head and neck pain
· Pain, pressure, or stiffness at the top of the neck or base of the head
· Restricted neck movement
What is recommended?
The good news is that chiropractors treat cervicogenic headaches. Chiropractic care has been shown to be beneficial in the treatment of these headaches, therefore if you recognise these symptoms and have suspicion this is the cause of your symptoms, and would like to find out more, then get in touch.
