Neck pain

Did you know? Neck pain is common- up to 70% of us will suffer with neck pain, at some point in our lives.

There are a range of different causes of mechanical neck pain, and often it is a combination of these that eventually leads to the onset of pain and symptoms. The causes include-

 · Poor posture
 · Acute neck strain
 · Sporting, and occupational activities (like long periods sitting at a desk)
 · Anxiety
 · Depression

Unfortunately, half of people suffering with neck pain continue to have low grade symptoms or recurrences for more than a year. This highlights the significance of living with neck pain, and the limiting nature of the condition.

There are also associated symptoms and conditions that can develop from mechanical neck pain. Neck related headaches, a trigger for migraines, and a cause of shoulder and elbow problems, are all related to mechanical neck pain. See our other pages on these conditions if you’d like to find out more about them, and how chiropractic care can help.

What is recommended?

The good news is, chiropractic care is beneficial in the treatment of mechanical neck pain, caused by postural and lifestyle factors, such as long or awkward sitting habits. Chiropractic care can relieve pain and tension in the neck and shoulders, and is a non-invasive, drug-free, natural treatment to this common and limiting condition.

If you are currently living with neck pain and would like to find out more, then get in touch and find out how you can benefit from chiropractic care.
